Electrocomponents brings in Tony McGarahan for comms overhaul
Posted on Wednesday, March 03, 2010
Tony McGarahan has joined FTSE 250 company Electrocomponents, on a project to review its global communications structure.
Tony joined as Interim Group Corporate Communications Director following a strategic audit at the end of last year of the company's corporate, financial and internal communications as well as a review of its brand and CSR activities. The result of this review was a commitment to implement a new global PR strategy and structure to grow the corporate reputation of the business and build on its brand equity globally.
As part of this brief Tony is leading the search to find a permanent Group Corporate Communications Director. The review does not impact Electrocomponents' relationship with its retained financial PR agency Tulchan.
Tony has previously held senior communications positions at Bradford & Bingley, Axa, Taylor Woodrow and Birmingham Midshires. Most recently he joined Shanks in another interim comms director role and he still advises the company.
