Mark will also be a member of the Essar Energy Management Committee.
The new role will signify Mark’s fourth position as head of Investor Relations for a FTSE 100 company, after Essar Energy plc joins the FTSE 100 at its next reshuffle following market close on Friday 18th June 2010.
Mark was previously Group Communications Director Lloyds TSB from 2008 to 2009, and Vice President of Investor Relations and Communications at BHP Billiton from 2002 to 2007. Prior to that, he was Head of Investor Relations at Powergen Plc from 2000 to 2002. Whilst at Powergen, he also held the position of Assistant Group Treasurer and Head of Project Finance from 1997 to 2000, a role which included responsibility for power project financings in India.
Essar Energy’s IPO raised £1,273 million (approximately US$1,947 million) in April 2010 and was the largest primary listing in London since December 2007.
